Question :
|
How
to take care of your fixed denture ?
|
|
|
Answer :
|
Oral
hygiene is the most important thing for fixed denture or bridge .
That is because it cannot be removed for cleaning so there came problems
of food compaction and halitosis . Besides if it was in poor oral
hygiene, the bridge's life will be shorten . Because of dental caries
and gingivitis in the abutment teeth which finally came an increasing
number of losing teeth. To clean bridge is not a difficult thing to
do , just an ordinary oral hygiene by brushing teeth and using dental
floss .And for the part that cannot use dental floss is always the
part with gingivitis . We can use "superfloss or floss threader"
which have hard tip for cleaning under the bridge by dentist's instruction
instead. |

Question :
|
Is
dental caries only a problem for children ?
|
|
|
Answer :
|
Not
really , all the changes that happen when we're getting older can
give us dental caries . Also after gingival recession and problems
with gingiva came the exposed root to oral environment . The root
part of teeth was covered by cementum which have less strength than
enamel . So it is the start of caries and thermal sensitivities
. It was found that elderly people ( from 50 age up ) have high
incidence of cervical caries . Besides there are secondary caries
which can happen around the old filling . That is because in their
childhood they didn't take care of their oral hygiene well enough
and they also have many filling . As time pass this filling became
old and always broken or leak so there came dental caries.

Why
does teeth get yellow ?
|
|
|
Answer :
|
One
thing we always feel when we're getting older is that our teeth
get more yellow and it hard to whitening them. There are 2 reasons
for this , first , it was because of the bacteria accumulate faster
and easier as time pass . So we need dentist to clean them off .
Second , which is not actually a problem, as we're getting older
there are changing of dentin's color beneath the enamel that 's
why they're getting yellow.
